In a world increasingly marked by fast-speed, by disposable relationships, by distraction and by emotional overload, Saberes Caipiras (Rural Wisdom) offers a brief, yet profound encounter with a way of life shaped by simplicity, presence and human depth. In this 17-minute short film, voices from the Brazilian countryside share everyday forms of wisdom rooted in friendship, patience, work, gratitude, community and connection with nature. Through intimate encounters, lived memories and reflective voices, the film reveals how these ways of living preserve powerful resources for emotional balance, resilience and belonging. Drawing on more than three decades of clinical experience in mental health, with special dedication to the study of psychological trauma, screenwriter and narrator Dr Julio Peres brings to the film a sensitive understanding of how human beings are wounded and how they recover. A thought-provoking reflection, with practical implications accessible to everyone, on mental well-being in contemporary life. Saberes Caipiras invites us to restore the subtle thread of healthy transgenerational wisdom present within all, for a good, long-lasting and meaningful existence.
